Start Playing Guitar Again In Four Weeks If You Haven't Been Playing In A While

Starting to play guitar is exciting, but is even more exciting to wach how much you have improved with time. In fact to learn to play guitar online is easy at all once you have discovered what is it that you really want to do, I mean, what type of music and songs you would rather to play.

Taking the first step is always kind of hard, if you are positive that you are going to start learning guitar, the first thing you have to do is to step out of your comfort zone, I know it sound a little bit doll, but the fact is that a lot of musicians start trying new stuff, and it is hard sometimes for them to overcome tricky lessons or different, and sometimes they just keep playing the way they were playing, meaning that instead of taking one step forward, they have not done anything to improve.

Now, to make sure that you are on the right track you need to got to have the right mindset, it all starts with your attitude towards being a better guitarist; just by been disciplined and motivated you can go a long way in this path of becoming a better musician. So basically, if you are determined about improving your guitar skills you will be defined by what you do and how you do it, not just by thinking on how you want to do it.

To become a better guitarist in four weeks, you need to have a plan how you will achieve it, so let me give you a piece of advice that will get you to start playing guitar in another level, especially if you haven´t played your guitar in a while:

Week 1: Clean your guitar, replace the strings (if you haven´t already), a lot of the time, small details like this can make a bigh change, clean your guitar eventually and take care of the strings, try to change them every three months or so (for an electric guitar). After you have done that, it’s a great idea during this first period to start doing finger exercises, learn one scale and practice it every day for 5 days.

Week 2: Find a good song to learn, just one, dedicate your sole attention and your effort to this new song, do what you regularly do to start learning a new song, a hard song, listen to it several times, download the tab, with the difference of learning it correctly from the beginning, play it for at least one hour a day for 5 days using a metronome and try to learn it mistakes free.

Third Week: Continue playing the song you’re already learning, practice and play it as often as you can, you will be gaining some speed by now and your hands will be faster, start putting some speed to the metronome until you are able to play the song on real speed.

Week 4: You have started playing guitar again with the right foot my friend; your next move is to continue practicing, on the fourth week buy jamorama or join a music academy, this way you’ll have consistency and you will have a ton of lessons ahead of you to learn.

To start playing guitar like a pro all you need is discipline and motivation, take the first step, that’s the most difficult thing to do, after that, you have half of the battle won already, have a great day.

Guitar Lessons - 4 mistakes to avoid

People all over the Internet are lookikng to learn to play guitar online available. Starting to Play Guitar is very popular, and the number of guitar players increases every day. Making mistakes is part of the natural way of human learning. To become a guitar player is not the exception. Here are the four mistakes usually made by newbies.

1. Running before walking: Some kids want to learn how to play guitar because they want to play like Hendrix, or Kirk Hammet, or Carlos Santana. I know because it happened to me. At first we need to learn chords and basic songs before we can try playing solos. I would recommend starting listening to Nirvana or The Ramones and after learning the chords, practice songs of that type to listen to the timing which by the way is extremely important.

2. Skipping tuning: Some people underestimate the importance of tuning up the guitar correctly; very often this happens because they want to start playing no matter what. Learn to tune up your guitar and then your guitar will tune you up.

3. Lack of practice: This can easily be pointed as the greatest error that a guitarist can make. To play the guitar is an art, a profession for a lot of people, that being said, it requires a lot of time and effort. The first couple of weeks with the new toy, (the guitar) it has to be the number one, you need to plan ahead a couple of hours of your day to be dedicated to practice. It is very important that if you are serious about this, if you really want to be a good guitar player, you have to start making sacrifices; after all, if you really enjoy playing, there is no need for me to say this. Automatically you will be putting other things aside to give your guitar the time she deserves.

4. Being your own teacher: A lot of guitar players after they learn a thing or two, they try to make it on their own. This is an option, but the best choice you can do is to ask help from an expert. This is going to make you take your learningto the next level. After you learn the basics, keep practicing, start learning new songs, don't get stuck with the same 8 songs for your entire life.

Buy Jamorama, the truth is that your mind will open and eventually you will have the need in your veins. Let the music flow in your head.

That being said, the best I can do for you is to direct you to the best method available,
To your success.

4 Important Tips Needed To Know For Improving Guitar Skills

It is a fact that when a child picks up a guitar, he or she pictures himself (or herself) rocking like the great legends of rock on a huge scenario with fireworks and special effects, and maybe it´s just a kid with a guitar (or sometimes a broom or something like it) in front of a mirror.

If this sounds familiar to you and you to learn to play guitar like the kid with a broom, you´ll more than likely remember that feeling, that period when you had a lot of fun starting to picture yourself with a guitar and all the things were about having fun.

You could be one of two types of guitarists, the professional ones and the ones that play it as a hobby, and the two type of guitarists do it for the fun of it that’s for sure, but my point is that the ones that play for hobby start learning to play guitar and since it is not their main priority, they leave the guitar alone, or sometimes they even stop playing for long periods of time, so of course they do not improve with time, a lot of the time they actually get worse.

Well, if you were starting to play guitar a long time ago but did not take it seriously, this is your time, it is not too late to start getting better, all you need to do is have a plan to do it, a plan to improve your guitar skills. The right way to go is to begin doing things the right ways, I mean that you have to forget about a couple of things. For example, what happened to me when I started is that since I only learned to play guitar chords, when I started playing songs with a higher difficulty level I was not used to play using my pinky finger on the fretboard, I was not used to it at all.

It was only when I began taking lessons that I discovered out the way to use your pinky finger to play guitar correctly when playing solos. Ok, so let me point out tips to improve your guitar skills.

1. Plan ahead your practice sessions: there is a saying that I like a lot, it says “if you fail to plan, you plan to fail”, the only way to get where you are going to is by knowing where you’re going, plain and simple. So, figure out what kind of guitar you want to play guitar right, and start doing things in small steps.

2. Get a new guitar: if it is within your possibilities of course, this is a wonderful way to start improving very fast, its literally like a child with a new toy, you are going to start playing it and you will not want to put it any time soon.

3. Find a guitar learning program or a guitar teacher: with a teacher or lessons to follow you will take advantage of the knowledge of the experts and discover what you need to learn before moving forward.

4. Practice, practice, practice, and buy jamorama: You can have the best teacher, the best guitar, the best guitar course, but if you do not take action you won´t be able to improve your guitar skills, so you need to have enough time to make sure that you will be able to take action and practice what you are learning.

Winners are the ones who don’t give up, what makes the difference between those who achieve success and those who have their guitar as a dusty old toy in the closet is the will to become the best and the effort they put in what they really want. I wish you the best of luck and have a great day.

Three Main Characteristics of Great Guitar Players

In this road of finding the best guitar course, of turning into a great musician and an outstanding guitar player, there are problems in the way sometimes, that might make you believe like it is an frustrating issue, but then again, if you search for your favorite band, Like one of the best in my opinion Kirk Hammet, what he does on the guitar seems like it can´t be done sometimes, but the important thing here is that if he can do it, then you achieve it as well; Kirk is a very talented guitar player, no questions there, in fact, what I mean is that what he does is something you can learn.

Now, starting to play guitar can be an awesome experience for you, or it could be just a frustrating memory, it depends on your approach, on your will to master an instrument and ultimately it is up to you to step up and make a decision. Of course, you do have to put some effort to see results on your end, and trust me, you will love it; to learn guitar is in many ways the path to an entire new world, the world of music, but more important than that, the world of making your own music.

Now, you can see and hear how a lot of people love the guitar legends such as Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix, Slash or Joe Satriani, and yes, it looks like they are from another world, they make it look so simple when we know that it is not simple at all; the truth is that on one hand, they were born with the talent, but on the other side, behind their skills there are years of guitar lessons, courses, lessons and above all, endless hours of practice.

The main quality all of them have in common besides their guitar skills is their will, it is their attitude to make things like nobody has before and their love for music; you can see for yourself through time that the people that succeed, the ones that stand in front of thousands are who they are because they created a new way to play guitar, they did not sit down to see how the world turns around, they wrote their names down into history.

There are three important characteristics that every musician needs to focus on to improve his or her skills and stand out from the crowd:

Play guitar every day: This is the most crucial of all three, by practicing everyday you get an advantage that many people don´t have. You get to get a lot better really fast by taking the time to practice every day.

Open your eyes – Expand your horizons: Go beyond your comfort zone, try to find new bands to listen to, new music, or maybe the olides that you haven´t listened to yet. The Woodstock generation had a lot of great bands back in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, (I´m in my mid-twenties).

Self control: You need to be motivated and have discipline to practice on your own either if you get lessons from a private teacher, or if you are teaching guitar yourself with online guitar lessons.

By applying these main principles from the beginning you will be able to cross the line that a lot of people don´t and you will start looking at them over your shoulder; remember, learning guitar is a never ending process, there is always a new lesson to learn or create. If you want to, you are capable of making a difference, have a great day my friend.

Five Steps to Play Guitar in a Whole New Level

I have seen a lot of people starting to play guitar, but very few take it seriously, meaning that just some of them end up mastering it. This is proof that a lot of them stop learning after knowing the basic stuff because they never found the best way to practice guitar, and do not see how it can become an endless music journey. The thing is that to improve like a professional it is important to see things with an open mind, to have an outsider’s perspective to notice what you are doing well and in what you could do better.

There have been moments in which I have felt frustrated and blocked, times in life when I really just don’t see the light, and experience has given me a lesson, that there is alwaysanother way to do things, maybe it’s not exactly what we were expecting, but the truth is that there is most of the time something that can be done when we get to a moment where we see that there is something wrong.

Alright, so you have learned how to play guitar, and you have been playing songs for some time now, maybe a year or less, or even maybe for a couple of years, and you see that you have gotten into that point that I was talking about previously, what can you do? For starters you need to consider is that it is normal to think like that, and as I said before, there are ways to start practicing guitar that will help you and I am going to give you a few ideas you can use to get a fresh start.

1. Stop playing guitar for a while. Take a moment, just relax and consider it for a minute, if you stop playing guitar for let’s say seven days or so, when you start playing again you are going to have this feeling to start practicing again and that is a good thing, it will be as if you a recharging batteries.

2. Expand your mp3 playlist. Let’s say that you are into punk music, then try listening to some country, blues or some jazz guitar players and when you listen to a song that you like, try to play it reading tablature or if you know how to read music, look for the music sheet for that song in particular.

3. Look for new scales to learn on your guitar. Now that you are listening to a different type of music, try to learn a couple of scales of blues and jazz, and this will be good for you to get your fingers get faster, and you are going to get a better idea to start making up awesome solos on your guitar.

4. Set up your Metronome. Now that you are trying new scales on the guitar, use this device to practice them and start putting some speed on your hands.

5. Look for inspiration. Start searching around for dvds of your favorite guitar players, that feeling you get from watching them on stage is the fuel you need to start improving your guitar skills immediately.

These are just a few tips that you can start applying to improve your skills as a guitarist. Take a cup of coffee, think about it and do the right thing, do you want to be like everybody out there that only learn how to play a couple of songs or do you want to explode your full potential? Think about it, good luck my friend.

Three Simple Tools For Starting to Play Guitar Online

There are moments in life when we wish we had a friend stopping us from doing that mistake that resulted in a waste of time, and to learn to play guitar online can be a little bit tricky if we do not overcome those demons that whisper into our ears that to learn to play guitar is not for you, that you need to continue playing guitar hero and having fun that way.

I remember when I began my career as a guitarist about a decade ago, I still remember the smell of my acoustic guitar, the gear that my parents had bought me and the set of strings for me to put on the guitar, although I had no idea on how to put strings on a guitar, but yet, it was a great moment for me to see that I was a couple of steps away of doing what a lot of teenagers wanted to do back then, to start rocking with a guitar.

Well, it is easy to get frustrated specially in the first couple of weeds if you do not possess the correct tools to learn to play, now, I want to give you a warning and tell you that it is important to consider small details that can make a huge difference in the long term.

For instance let me show you what you should have done by now to start taking the guitar seriously:

1. A classical guitar. Don´t even consider getting an electric guitar if you haven’t dominated a classical guitar, you are going to feel that you are not going anywhere because your hands will feel a lot of pain and trust me, this is not a thing you want to deal with on your first couple of days as a serious guitarist.

2. A metronome. This is any device that produces regular, metrical ticks (beats, clicks) — settable in beats per minute. This great thing is really helpful to start getting a sense of rhythm in your head and to practice finger exercises and becomes handy later on to do warm up and stretching exercises to start playing more difficult riffs and solos.

3. Buy Jamorama. The thing is that you can’t get better at what you don’t measure and by having a course to stick to you actually get to see what to do and what to avoid to start getting a lot better very fast. By doing this you are able to measure if you are doing a good job or if you do have to work on some specific things about your guitar playing.

The important thing of having these three tools is that you get the opportunity to improve a lot quicker than if you choose to learn guitar without them, and more important than that, you start to play guitar with the right foot, there are other tools that are required to improve your skills, but they will start to appear in the way, stuff like guitar books and more advanced lessons; what I have mentioned you is just a very basic list of things that can help you start improving in a very easy way.

I encourage you to begin practicing guitar with the proper method and to never let anyone tell you that you can’t do it, if somebody ever tells you that, respond: “watch me” and go ahead and do it. Follow your dreams and never stop playing. Good luck.

To say: "I Can't Do It" Is Unacceptable

I´ve been playing guitar for about ten years now and there have been moments in my journey that I have said "I can´t Learn To Play Guitar, this is too hard for me". Time has taught me that it is absurd to even consider something like that, since we are capable of doing a lot more than we actually imagine. The truth is as Henry Ford says, If you think that you can, then you can, If you think that you can't, then you can't, either way, you are right.

Before I Move on, I do want to make a small comercial... a great idea to learn guitar very fast is to purchase Jamorama, I truly believe that it is one of the best guitar courses out there and makes the guitar learning process a lot easier and fun with all the bonuses they add to it.

Ok, that being said and released from my chest, a very important thing to take into consideration is that it is all about the attitude, and for this I want to share a little story with you.

I have had many jobs in different places, I have been a customer service rep in a couple of call centers, I have been a sales executive for a bank, I have been an English teacher and I even opened my own coffe house in the back of my house. You see, I am an entreprenour, and the reason I have tried so many different things is because I did not had clear what I really wanted to do with my life... until about a month ago. I have written down what I am going to do and where I want to be in five years from now. Enough, my point is that I never give up, I continue searching and fighting for my dreams, as you should too.

When it comes to learn to play guitar, the best thing you can do is to find the best way to practice guitar, stick to it and play every day, make your own routines, start writing down what you want to do and where you want to be in the future and you get a better perspective of the present.

I hope this post is not to rambled on, bottom line what I want to say is good luck and fight for your dreams. Follow your dreams baby, cuz we all die young.

Poweful tips when Learning to Play Guitar

To learn to play guitar online is a fabulous experience and there are a few things to take into account when learning to play guitar, most of the time are obvious things, but these basic facts can make a huge difference when you start and a lot of people take them for granted. It is a fact that many beginners quit within the first 3 months because they feel frustrated, and I want to give you a heads up by giving you important tips on starting to play guitar.

There is a famous quote that I like a lot that says: “when the student is ready, the master appears”, well, I’m not here to tell you that I´m the master that knows it all, however based on my personal experience as a musician and as a music instructor I want to point out a couple of things that will be helpful on this journey of mastering the guitar.

I am going to start mentioning the three things that you need to do to master the guitar the easy and fun way:

1. Purchase your own guitar. This is very important because you are going to start creating a sense of responsibility; I’m saying this because if you decide to learn to play guitar with someone else’s guitar, you are not going to take it as seriously as if it was your own guitar, because it is not yours in the first place. So, the at the very beginning you need to get your own guitar.

2. Practice a lot. Now, this might seem pretty obvious, but the truth is that a lot of people do not succeed because they don´t plan ahead time to play guitar every day, specially the first couple of weeks, which is the time your hands need to get used to the fretboard and for you to feel comfortable with your guitar.

3. Buy Jamorama. For this point, I want to share with you my personal experience. When I was about thirteen years old a cousin of mine showed me how to play basic guitar, and that’s all I learned from him, so I spent almost eleven months playing the same songs because I did not have a course to follow. Then I stepped up to improve my skills, so I convinced my parents to pay for lessons, and those lessons were pretty expensive by the way, and I noticed how much I had been missing from the guitar.

That being said let me point out the main 3 things you need to avoid when learning guitar:

1. Starting to play with a damaged guitar. Try to find a nice guitar to learn to play, the reason this is a smart thing to do is because your hearing will get used to the sound of that instrument, and you could believe that the way you play it is the correct way it should sound.

2. Start playing with an electric guitar first. You will feel more pain on an electric guitar than if you start learning on an acoustic guitar. Playing an electric guitar could lead you to quit and that is exactly what we are trying to avoid.

3. Leaving your guitar in a dusty corner. It’s all right to skip one day of playing, we all have several things to do every day, but don’t make a habit out of this, because by doing this you’ll find yourself playing the same song, over and over again. I know that because it happened to me.

I encourage you to download an easy to follow course online and to practice as often as you can, you will find that playing guitar is a very cool hobby and relaxing too. I hope you find this article useful and I wish you the best. Good luck and happy learning.

Starting To Play Guitar to Make your Dreams Come True

I remember when I was starting to play guitar. Those were the days... when I had nothing to do but to play guitar, then soccer and zelda: a link to the past... those were the days.

I makes me wonder how my life would be If I hadn´t listened to my mother when she told me that I was not going to make a living out of it. She wanted the best for me... but she was wrong. The truth is that I studied business administration because I had no clue of what I really wanted, well, actually I did but I had that wrong idea implanted in my head that it wasn´t going to be possible for me to have a salary based on my music.

I want to share with you that if you have a dream... follow it and don´t listen to anybody, not even to your parents... or I should say, SPECIALLY to your parents, yes, they want the best for you, but as a reflection of their lives. You should only listen to them if they come and tell you, "Follow your dreams".

A cool movie that motivates me every time I see it is "A knights tale"... that movie is crazy but it has a very profound message, and that message is that you can always change your stars... It happened to me actually. It was only after I finished my studies that I realized that that is far far away from what I really want in life. Now, to be fair, I did learn a lot in college, met a lot of cool people and figured how ways to actually achieve things, but to spend all my day at an office wearing a tie from 8 to 5 or sometimes later... No thanks.

So anyway, coming back to the process of learn to play guitar... I did actually began learning guitar alone, but after almost a year playing the same few songs over and over again I realized that there is a whole world out there, there are literally thousands, upon thousands of songs and techniques waiting to be mastered by me, so I started my guitar lessons with a private tutor, and they were worth it, very expensive, but worth it.

Bottom line, what I want to say is that to learn guitar is one of the best things I could have done, maybe I'm not slash, kirk hammet or any of those fellas, but I managed a way to combine my knowledge with music to sustain my guitar business... It´s never too late to follow your dreams. Follow your dreams baby, cuz we all die young.

A small commercial... to make your guitar learning easy, buy jamorama at the best price, you won't regret it. It is right now one of the most popular learning guitar softwares available. Good Luck and have a great day.

It is like the first time you tried to ride a bike, or when you were learning how to drive, I’m pretty sure the first time was not an eureka moment.

That being said, starting to play guitar is like learning how to walk, at first you have to take little steps, and with a tiny push, all of the sudden walking becomes a common every day activity that we do on auto pilot. After you have learned the basics, everything else becomes a lot easier.

Never the less, there are a few errors that can get you stuck or feel bored about it, and it is crucial to identify them when you are learning guitar, and by following the proper method to learn guitar and taking the advice of the right people, you are able to improve your skills as a guitarist a lot quicker that if you do not have the right guidance.

Common mistake number one: Learning to play on an electric guitar. The issue you are going to find is that the strings on the electric guitar are metallic, so it might be a painful start, and it may lead to believing that playing guitar is hard and it´s not for you.

Solution: Get a classical guitar with nylon strings. Not only it is easier, but these guitars are also cheaper than electric guitars, so you are killing two birds with one stone.

Common mistake number two: Taking the Chords lesson as lesson one. Well, learning guitar chords is without a question one of the guitar basics, and it is what you have to learn to start playing songs on your guitar. However, there are other topics you need to cover before jumping into learning guitar chords.

Solution: The first couple of things you need to consider is how to hold a guitar, how to hold a pick, where to place your hands, specially your left hand, you have to learn where to locate your thumb when you are playing, the sitting position is very important too and keep your guitar tuned up. All these small things should be taken as lesson number one.

Common mistake number three: Overloading of information. It’s very common to see among beginners this mistake, in other words they want to learn a lot of things at once. What happens is that when you try to learn too much too fast, you end up learning nothing properly.

Solution: Focus on one thing at a time, and after you have learned a single lesson; move on to the next one. It is very important to have a course to follow to avoid feeling overwhelmed. Remember, you need to take small steps before learning how to walk, and you need to walk before learning how to run. By doing things in small steps you will be able to accomplish wonderful things eventually.

The key to learn guitar online is to play guitar every day. I always say that learning guitar is not a destination, is a journey. To really enjoy this journey find the advice of the experts. Good luck and my best wishes to you.

Starting To Play Guitar

What is the deal? well, the thing is that when you are Starting To Play Guitar you must practice a lot. The more you practice, the better you get. If you really want to, you can master the guitar in about a year or so. But don't get me wrong, when I say master, I mean, to reaaaally master it, with solos, finger excersises, super difficult riffs, etc.

A great idea to Learn Guitar Online is to Buy Jamorama. Because it is a great way to learn guitar, their videos are real easy to follow and you get access to a lot of cool stuff like a metronome, a guitar tuner and great pdf books that make you improve your skills really fast.

I honestly would like to play guitar like Kirk Hammet, the lead guitarist of Metallica, I already know how to play a couple of Metallica songs, however, it´s not as easy as He makes it look. I'm currently working on the Master of Puppets solo, it´s getting really tricky in the middle part, so what I'm gonna do is use the 21 day technique.

This technique, if you aren't familiarized with it is about playing the song slowly for twenty one days, increasing speed little by little, playing it as accurately as possible. When your brain learns how to play a song slowly several times, it will become much easier to put some speed into it.

The next Metallica solo I want to learn is the solo of "One". I know it's hard, but thats what makes it so cool. Last time my band and I gathered up to jam, we attempted to play Metallica - One, but we realized that we are not sincronized yet when it comes to the last part of the song. That song is hard... but we will not give up on it.

Anyway, to all of you guitarists to become out there, continue practicing, get a nice guitar, and buy jamorama.

Don't hesitate. Starting to play guitar is really cool. Good luck and to your success.

Learn the Basics with Guitar Classes

Every now and then people see things in a complicated way. I know sometimes I do. But to get guitar classes doesn’t need to be complicated. First things first, you have to get a guitar and then you need a jamorama review. That´s how simple this needs to be.

Well, playing guitar can be a very fun moment or your life if you seriously want to play it. At first, it is normal to get frustrated a bit and to believe that the guitar is complicated, but the truth is that it isn’t.

The “tools” you should have to begin learning guitar are: a great guitar, a pick (probably more than one, for some supernatural reason they tend to mysteriously go away) a pc with access to the internet (you already have it if you are reading this), about an hour a day to practice and the desire to learn.

The first thing you need to know is the chords. It will probably be difficult the first couple of days, but normally after a few days practicing for at least one hour a day you will feel the difference. The guitar will begin to feel better and your fingertips will begin to be stronger.

After knowing to play the major and minor chords, the moment has come to start playing songs. You should have one or two in your list; you just have to make sure to pick easy songs. Do not attempt to start with a difficult song that will only lead you to get bored, if you do this, you will probably start to lose desire in mastering the guitar.

After you know how to play a couple of songs, the next step is to practice finger exercises such as a minor pentatonic scale or any other exercise. To get your fingers to move quicker, practice with these exercises and you will feel the how they work in a couple of weeks. Remember, the secret is to play every day.
Now is the moment to become serious.

After you have learned all that you are going to able to play songs and your fingers will feel comfortable on the strings. This will not happen fast, it usually takes about four months to learn the basics.

Now, a great thing you can do is learning how to read tabs. Reading tabs is not difficult at all, in fact, many players, a lot of good musicians never actually get to learn to read music, they don´t think is necessary. Now, I´m not saying that you should not learn how to read music; but at first you could improve your skills a lot just by mastering how to read tabs.

Also, finding a guitar buddy is a very good idea. You can exchange tips and lessons that will make you learn guitar faster.

Excited? You should be. Scared? Not at all, playing guitar is easy. The difference between an average guitarist and a master on the guitar is consistency. To play guitar is not a destination, is a journey (that’s a phrase I like very much), you will always discover something new to learn; there are literally hundreds of lessons out there. The best thing you can do is getting a guitar learning softare to start playing right now. Remember to practice every day and have fun.

Can I Learn Guitar Fast Online?

The answer to this question is actually very simple… it depends. To learn guitar fast, you have to work hard at first, but beyond that, you need to have fun with your guitar. The fact is that learning guitar is a continuous process, You will find everywere something different that you can learn, truth be told, learning guitar is not a destination, it’s a journey.

Also, to learn with a good learn guitar software, I would say that it may take up to four weeks if you practice every day. After learning the chords, the next step is to begin playing easy songs that do not need much effort from your side.

Let’s create a small time chart to give you a clue of how your learning process will be after you choose to take this path.
1 – 3 Months: in this small amount of time you are going to be able to dominate easy songs such as Knockin’ on Heaven’s Doors by Bob Dylan. Songs like the one mentioned do not require much knowledge; you only need to know the basic chords to practice it. You are off to a good start.

3 – 6 Months: In this stage of the chronogram, you´ll find yourself capable of playing more difficult songs; you will be able to do techniques like hammer-ons and pull-offs. At this point, you already feel very one with your guitar.

6 Months – 1 Year: when you get here you will practice songs that have some tricky riffs and notes. The rhythm guitar of Iron Maiden and Megadeth come to my head, that is because I’m a fan of them, but they do have some good songs to use your new skills.

1 – 2 Years: When you get here, you realize that your fingers are in great shape and it becomes easier to master a new song. Most musicians use similar notes and that helps you to know half a song before you start to play it.

2 – 3 Years: It is the time when you start to learn new techniques; for example, if you haven’t yet, you can start practicing the blues, or you could also begin to learn how to play jazz. In my opinion, I would rather learn Jazz, because you do learn a lot about improvisation. You can find videos about Tomo Fujita to get a better idea of how you could end up playing.

3 – 5 Years: To be practicing for this long… you are able to play just about any song you want. You will find yourself needed by other people to be in their band as the lead guitar. After learning guitar for five years, probably you are going to have over three guitars; an acoustic, an electric and an electro-acoustic. At this point, sky is the limit.

After that, you’llyou will find out that there is still a lot to be learned. As I said before, playing guitar is a never ending process. Of course, you need to practice many hours, you will not be able to play guitar overnight. In my opinion to achieve a nice level of guitar playing it could take about half a year. Then, the world is your Oyster.

As you are probably extremely aware, making that first step is always the hardest step, and once or twice we need a little help. To learn guitar online is the same. You can see it this way, you have gotten on a car on your way to a job appointment, not just any job, the job of your dreams. You know you can do it, but after you get it, you don´t want to let it go, so you ask the people that has worked in this position in the past to find out how to do it.

Now that you have decided to learn guitar, it is time to think what the correct way to go is, and what the best method to follow is in your way of becoming a musician.

Advice number one: It is crucial having an hour a day to practice. Do not forget this, it is the key to learn how to play guitar. Just like learning how to drive, having a moment to practice guitar during the day is important when you are starting.

Advice number two: listen to music. Too hard, right? To be more specific, listen the songs you want to learn on the guitar. When the time comes for you to start playing your favourite songs, you are going to recognize when you make a mistake, plus, having the motivation of learning a song that you actually like playing will make it easier.

Advice number three: exercise your fingers. An example of a great exercise is after you have learned the chords, play them in order: C – D – E – F – G – A – B. Do this a couple of times to get used to the changes.

Advice number four: practice in your head. This sounds silly right? But yet it is true. Every time you imagine something in your head, your brain works as if you were indeed doing it. So, when you imagine yourself playing the chords on your guitar, you are actually practicing almost as much as if you had the guitar with you.

Tip number five: clean your guitar. Well, this is not exactly a tip that will improve your skills as a guitar player, but is more like common sense. A clean guitar is a happy guitar, and a happy guitar will keep you happy too.

Tip number six: work on your fingers strength. Don’t worry; you don’t have to go to a gym to achieve this. You can work on this by doing scales on your guitar or just by playing the chords correctly and holding your fingers still for a few seconds will do. You will feel the difference in a couple of days.

Tip number seven: practice with your eyes shut. This is excellent, as it can be tricky. Try playing changes from chord to chord first, then you can move to another exercise that you know. Your fingers will know what to do and you will play a lot faster.

Tip number eight: Look at other people. Having a role model to learn from is a smart thing to do, as long as it is to get motivation and inspiration only.

After you do that, don’t forget that the smart way to learn guitar is to practice every day. I strongly recommend you to get a guitar course online, or if you are able to join a music school, that’s a great idea too. The important thing is to put some effort into it.

Who is Your Favorite Guitar Player?

History has given us many great guitar players. Since my favourite kinda of music is Heavy Metal, I feel safe to say that one of my all time favourites is Kirk "The Reaper" Hammet. I've only had one chance to see him live, but I gotta tell you, this was a powerful and exciting experience. Guatemala was the place. Hopefully Metallica will come back to Central America soon

Is Slash better than Buckethead? Yes, in my opinion. Is it faster? probably not. I think that bucket head has a great technique, but It would probably sound better in a band like Stratovarious... or Dragonforce. For me, Slash has the perfect style for Guns 'n Roses. I also enjoyed Velvet Revolver... Too bad they broke up too. I just wish that Slash had not done that video with Paulina Rubio... that song sucks.

Then whe have Steve Vai.... I little bit too psychodelic for my taste but I have to recognize that as a guitar player I have never seen anyone like him before. Is prescence on stage leaves you wanting for more.

What about Iron Maiden? Dave Murray is a great guitaritst too... Live his speed goes up about 3 times. The energy this folks transmit to the crowd is excellent. Hopefully I'll be able to see them live before the Year ends...

I wish that in my country (El Salvador) had the same opportunities as many guitarists have in the U.S. I've been trying to google the best guitar players from El Salvador, and haven't been able to find a name.

I know a few, of course, but looks like they are only known here. There are good news for us salvadorean musicians. The drummer that plays for Morbid Angel is salvadorean... There are chances for us... we just have to fight for them

Who is YOUR role model?

Online Guitar Lessons – What To Expect From Them

There are normally two methods to learn the guitar, Online and Offline. Probably 10 or 15 years ago this was not the case. Back then it was necessary to look for a teacher willing to teach guitar or, we could have joined a music school, which is still a very good idea to learn the guitar if time and money are not an issue.

Now, if you choose to learn the guitar online, it is a fact that you are going to wonder what to expect from a video course. Well, in my opinion, this methods are very complete, yes, there is a variety of methods out there, and more than often there is not just one top program, but there are quite a few that can really teach you to play guitar.

You can expect, from these video courses, very specific and pretty good explanations about the technique you are learning. I.E., if you are learning a lesson about Tuning Up your guitar, the video will teach you very slowly how to do it, and it is goint to repeat, within the video, how to do it. And here comes the beauty of it, let’s say that you do not need to watch the explanation again, you simply move ahead and your tutor can’t get upset.

Another great thing that guitar lessons online give, is that you improve more quickly than if you go to a music institute, because your improvement will not depend on the slowest person in the class. The downside of it is that by not having a personal teacher, you won’t be able to ask a question and get an answer right away, however, almost all of these courses offer 24/7 support, to get a professional answer from an expert.

When learning the guitar with video lessons you not only determine what lessons to skip and what lessons to take over and over, based on the results you see. Now, the idea of having a method is to stick to it, but since you have to be self motivated, you are able to decide what lessons to do, this way, you will not get frustrated. That being said, that is in fact a common problem when starting to play guitar. Sometimes people try to move too quickly, that they get frustrated and quit.

Commonly this type of courses are divided in beginners, intermediate and advanced lessons; I do not know if all of them are like that, I have not tried them all yet, but, the ones I have had the opportunity to use are indeed a powerful tool to learn how to play and to improve my techniques.

So, you get very good explanations, friendly support, you get to learn at your own pace, and probably the best part for a lot of people, you do not need to move from your house to get them. I never get tired of saying this, it is really crucial to practice every day, especially when you begin to learn. Good luck and have a nice day.

Pro and Cons To Play Guitar Online

A good thing to do prior buying something is to ask people out there about it. To get guitar courses is no different. It is good to search online to find reviews about guitar methods, just like you are doing right now.

The guitar methods online have a lot of great qualities that help the amateur guitarist to start from zero, and we are about to see what the pro and cons are of getting video lessons. It is always a good idea to do a little research before taking a decision, that way we get a better idea of what to expect.

Pros:

1. Saves a lot of money. Video Lessons online are a real money saver against hiring a personal tutor or going to a music school to get classes. It is true, the learning process is face to face in an academy or with a tutor, but the price is indeed more expensive.

2. Time saver. When you have the guitar lessons at your disposition in your laptop, it really saves a lot of time. For example, you do not need to wait around for the tutor to come to your house or if you are taking classes at a music institute, you don’t have to go anywhere.

3. You have the chance to practice at your own pace. If you decide to go to an academy of music to learn guitar, you will have classmates, and there is usually one or two persons that feel more comfortable with a guitar than others, it could happen that the teacher moves to the next level of the course when you haven’t mastered it yet. It’s a possibility.

4. You get to decide when and where you get your lessons. This is actually one of the most benefitial characteristics that video lessons have, you only need a computer and an internet connection and you are set to begin learning at the time of the day that is more convenient to you. You do not have to adjust to someone else’s schedule.

What are the cons?

1. You have to be self-motivated and serious. Since you will be the only responsible of your improvement, you need to have motivation to avoid being frustrated or bored, meaning that you will not have someone keeping up with your progress. Now, this could even with a teacher, to lose discipline; because either way you need to make time to play guitar on your own.

2. Move to fast and get frustrated. It could be that you fell overconfident about your improvement and move to a more difficult lesson that will make you get stuck. Or it could be the opposite: move to slow and get bored. A private tutor knows when the best time to move to a harder level is. To avoid this, try to master one lesson at a time.

To learn the guitar online is a very smart choice, you do have to put effort on it, but it’s an effort that leaves you with satisfaction of doing something you really enjoy. Have a happy learning.

Learn The Guitar Online

Learning to play guitar doesn’t have to be frustrating at all. In fact, to learn the guitar online can be very fun and exciting. I got my first guitar about twelve years ago. I had no idea on how to play the guitar, and of course twelve years ago Youtube was not there, in fact, I did not even had access to the internet, I recall that I had a computer with Windows 95 just to play very few games, So, a cousin of mine taught me the basics chords.

But why am I telling you this? Because now it is easier than ever learning to play the guitar; there literally are tons of lessons out there that can give you great tips and techniques. The problem you are going to find is that most videos are about two or three minutes, that means that it is not the best way to learn how to play guitar.

If you are determined about learning to play the guitar, you could A, take classes with a private tutor or you could B, go to a music academy. Sure, you can do either one of them, but option A can be very expensive. Usually a private teacher charges anywhere from $25 to $100 for a one hour class… you tell me.

Option B is usually less expensive than the first option, but who has the time? For me, the good way to go is the third option: Guitar Courses Online. The reason why I consider this is an excellent alternative is because they are less expensive, it is a onetime fee and you get to learn at your own speed.

Now, let me tell you some good advice that will help you once you start playing guitar:

1. Practice every day. You need to reserve at least one hour a day to practice. This alone could be the most important tip to consider. Practice, practice and then practice some more.

2. Love your Guitar. Think of your Guitar as an extension of your body. Treat it right, keep it clean. Now, if you do not have a guitar yet, I normally recommend buying a used instrument, or if you consider in buying a new guitar, try buying something that is not very expensive. Then, you can get a better guitar.

3. Start with an acoustic guitar with nylon strings. Your fingers will love you if you do this, because nylon strings are softer and your fingers need to get used to them. Later on, on your electric guitar you will feel the difference.

4. Find a guitar buddy. If you already have a friend that has a guitar, great!, you will have someone to talk about your improvement and tips. This is not crucial, but it can be helpful, plus, once you learn a song or two you can get together and play for a while.

5. Practice every day. I know I said this already, but it is true, this is the key to success, and not just for guitar playing, but in this case yes. Try to practice for an hour every day.

Try to learn new things. Once you have mastered a song, continue with another one and so on. You are going to have a lot of fun and people will want to hear you play. Good luck!

Easy Lessons to Learn the Guitar Online

A lot of men have New Year's resolutions, I’m Sure I do. For some of them is to learn the guitar online, or any other musical instrument. For others is to quit smoking or getting into a gym. It is for sure tough, that among the top ten resolutions for 2011, one of them is to learn something new.

Now, to grab a guitar is a lot like anything else, the hardest step is to start. To start playing, all you need at first is spirit and time to practice. Before, it was necessary to have a boring text book or to find an experienced musician, now, due to the facility to access the internet most people have, and the variety of lessons out there it is not difficult at all to start to learn.

So, what is lesson number one? Get your own guitar. Sounds pretty obvious, but some people normally what they do, they have met someone who has a guitar and they ask for it to start. Unless the friend that borrows you the guitar has another guitar, this is not a pretty good idea, because eventually he or she will want his or her guitar again and you are going to interrupt your lessons.

Lesson number two: learn how to keep your guitartuned up. Once you have learned to tune up the guitar, the notes you will make by playing the chords right will be so good that you will love it, besides; nobody likes the sound of an instrument that is not tuned up. Also this is a great way to educate your hearing and later on you will be able to know the notes even if you are not looking them.

Lesson number three: learn the chords. OK, we own a guitar, we have it tuned up, the following step is where the real learning process starts, besides, this is the point where the real fun starts. First it is necessary to know the major chords: C - D - E - F -D -G-A-B, then the minor chords. Once you have learned the chords you can begin to learn easy songs, there are quite a few that you can use to practice, and maybe, you will also discover that you have a singing voice, wouldn't that be awesome?

Lesson number four: Warm up exercises. What are these exercises? With them you will start to feel pretty lose, you'll become faster and your fingertips will get used to the strings.

Lesson number five: Get a good teacher or a great guitar course online. If you know someone that can personally teach you that is good, but if you do not, there are some powerful alternatives online that are a real time and money saver to continue your learning process. Remember, to continue practicing is the only way to learn to play guitar.

Having a course to follow is a smart thing to do because you will own a guide that will take you to the upper level at your own pace. Later on you can specialize into the music type of your preference, whether it is country, blues, jazz, rock, metal, Spanish... Most guitar courses online are very complete that way. Have fun.

Easy Songs To Learn The Guitar Online

What are some easy songs to learn the guitar online? There are quite a few that I can point out. It appears very obvious that it is needed for you to start learning guitar with easy songs but sometimes we like a song so much that we want to start to play it right away, it is not the common scenario, but it happens.

That being said, the best thing you have to do is to start with easy songs, popular songs. If you analize it, a reason why these songs are popular most of the time is due to the fact they are easy. If you begin with easy songs, you will not feel frustrated and you will be more comfortable with your Guitar.

A song that I like a lot and was one of the first songs I learned is KNOCKIN' ON HEAVEN'S DOOR, by Bob Dylan. This song is pretty easy, you only have to know four chords: G, D, C and A minor or Am (most commonly known). What can be hard here is to change from one chord to the next, meaning that at first, you will not be changing from G to D for example very fast, but with a little practice you will dominate this song very likely in less than a week.

KNOCKIN' ON HEAVEN'S DOOR is a good song to practice the rhythm, the movement of your right hand (if you’re not left handed of course).

Another song that is very easy to master and fun to play is Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver, It actually has the same chords than the other song we were talking about, it only changes one chord. Instead of Am you will have to play Em. The difficulty level is really the same; the only significant difference is that this song is a little bit faster than Bob Dylan’s song.

Now, if you are like me and like punk rock songs, The Ramones have many songs that are very easy to play, like Blitzkrieg Bop, one of my favorites. The truth is for this type of songs, you don’t even have to learn all the chords, you just need to play the Power Chord.

What is the Power Chord? Well, it is a chord that you can play in every fret getting a different note. For example, to get the G note, you place your index finger on the sixth string on the third fret, your ring finger on the fifth string on the fifth fret and your pinky finger in the fourth string on the fifth fret, below your ring finger.

Once you learn the Power Chord, you can learn a lot of punk rock songs from bands such as Green Day, The Ramones, Blink 182, The Offspring… You get the Idea.

To practice the Chords, Here is a small list of songs that you can play:

1. Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver
2. Free Falling by Tom Petty
3. Yellow by Coldplay
4. Come On Get Higher by Matt Nathanson
5. Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynard
6. Clocks by Coldplay
7. Teardrops On My Guitar by Taylor Swift
8. Lost by Coldplay.
9. Realize by Colbie Caillat
10. You’re Beautiful by James Blunt

Remember, the secret to learn guitar is practice, so practice, practice and then practice some more. Learn one song first, and then move on to the next one. Good luck and I’ll see you on stage.

Learn How To Play Guitar On Line

I remember when I first started playing guitar, I used to get guitar lessons from my cousin, at first my fingers hurt really bad and once or twice I got frustrated learning a song, but today I can assure you that it was totally worth it, I learned how to play the guitar. I bought , well actually my parents bought me my first acoustic guitar for about $40, my parents were not sure if I was going to like it, because when I was 5 they paid a lot of money in piano lessons for me, and… I didn´t like it… It was not for me.

Now, after more than twelve years playing the guitar, I have become a teacher, and it is a very motivating job for me because, I love playing. I do not o it for the money, most of the time I teach for free, you know, the little kid down the street, my sister´s boyfriend, my oldest nephew, anyway, you get the picture.

I have noticed that people are looking all around the world for the best guitar lessons; the truth is that most courses have a different style, and obviously, some are better than others.

I have seen ads saying “learn how to play guitar in 7 days”, I mean come on!, 7 days is too little time to even adjust your fingers to the guitar, and you do not wanna waste your time in any of those lame courses.

Fortunately for you, I found an excellent method online, I highly recommend it. I am going to be blunt here and say that is the best method available right now. It, in fact gives you the opportunity to start from scratch, or even if you are an intermediate player like I used to be, to take your knowledge to the next level.

If you are serious about this, you will be playing amazing solos faster than you can imagine following this awesome training, if it is in fact your style of music.

Another question that comes up very often whenever we talk about guitar lessons is the following: “What guitar is best for me?”, there is no exact answer to that question, that will depend if you are going to play blues, metal, classical, rock and roll, country… I personally love Fender. Now, my cousin comes to my house, the one that was teaching me over a decade ago, asking me if I can help him with his solos.

Pretty soon I will have for you a guide that will help you pick your guitar, right now, the best I can do for you, is to point you to the best guitar learning method online.

Have a nice one.
